Job Description
The General Production Worker supports a busy industrial manufacturing operation by handling materials, operating machinery, and preparing finished products for shipment. This role includes assisting with the setup and operation of automated production equipment that applies a weatherizing solution to large paper rolls used to wrap concrete forms in the construction industry. You will package and label finished products, perform shop cleanup, provide general shop support, and safely operate a forklift to move materials throughout the facility.
Responsibilities

• Handle raw materials and finished goods safely and efficiently throughout the production area.
• Assist with setup and operation of automated production machinery that applies weatherizing solution to large paper rolls.
• Operate manufacturing and industrial machinery in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Package and label finished products accurately, ensuring they are properly prepared for shipping.
• Prepare orders for shipment, including staging, wrapping, and organizing products for transport.
• Use forklifts to move materials, components, and finished goods within the warehouse and production areas.
• Perform general labor tasks such as lifting, stacking, and organizing materials as needed.
• Use hand tools and power tools to support production and maintenance of equipment and materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop environment through regular cleanup and general shop help.
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and safe operation of heavy and industrial machinery.
• Pay close attention to equipment operation and surroundings, especially in a loud environment with heavy machinery and chemicals present.
• Work cooperatively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and maintain workflow.
• Adapt to rotating shifts and maintain reliable attendance across day, swing, and night schedules.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment, or a strong interest in learning industrial work.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts safely; previous forklift experience is highly preferred.
• Comfort working around heavy industrial machinery and loud equipment while following strict safety procedures.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks, including materials handling, lifting, and moving products throughout the facility.
• Familiarity with or ability to learn machine operation in a production or manufacturing setting.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Willingness and ability to work in an industrial environment where chemicals are present (not handled directly).
• Openness to rotating through day, swing, and night shifts and working Monday-Friday on all three shifts.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability in meeting attendance and performance expectations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or other industrial settings is preferred.
• Previous experience operating forklifts is highly preferred but not required.
• Experience with materials handling and general labor in a production or industrial environment.
• Comfort using industrial machinery and equipment under established safety guidelines.
• Ability to learn new processes and equipment quickly and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Interest in long-term employment with opportunities to grow skills in machine operation and production work.

Work Environment
This role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility with heavy machinery and loud equipment. You will work around chemicals, though not directly with them, and must consistently follow all safety protocols. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including safety shoes, hard hats, earplugs, and safety glasses. The current schedule rotates between three Monday-Friday shifts every eight weeks: Day (6:45 AM-3:00 PM), Swing (2:45 PM-11:00 PM), and Night (10:45 PM-7:00 AM). The rotation moves from night to swing to day, and you must be open to working all three shifts. The environment is fast-paced, production-focused, and safety-driven, with an expectation that you remain alert, follow procedures, and work comfortably around industrial machinery and equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PORTLAND, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.63 - $25.63/hr.
