Role Overview As a Human Resources Generalist, you will oversee all HR functions for the West Chicago location while providing support to Canada operations. You will lead and execute activities across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee relations, recruiting, compliance, Workday administration, and terminations. Responsibilities WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time) Attract, hire, and engage a highly qualified workforce (50%). Work with leaders to create concise job descriptions, challenge skill expectations, maintain level cut‑offs for promotions, and partner with Talent Acquisition for sourcing and interviewing candidates. Communicate with leaders and employees to resolve disputes, conduct investigations, and ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies. Manage day‑to‑day relations with contingent workforce vendors, ensuring Affordable Care Act compliance. Elevate leadership capabilities and prepare the next generation workforce (20%). In partnership with L·OD, support Strong Leaders and Emerging Leaders programs, drive participation, coach HR coordinators, and implement scalable HR processes. Implement human resources programs (30%). Provide talent acquisition, employment processing, compensation, benefits, training, EEO compliance, and employee relations support. Desired Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Communication, Liberal Arts, or related field, or 5+ years equivalent work experience. 5+ years of progressive HR experience focused on training, full‑cycle recruiting, employee relations, policy interpretation, and performance management. HR certification (HRCI or SHRM) preferred. Strong planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills with the ability to work independently and train others. In‑depth knowledge of employment law, federal and state regulations. Organizational analysis and solution implementation skills; ability to diagnose issues and develop action plans. Customer‑focused problem‑solving and communication skills with ability to present to senior management. High initiative, self‑management, confidentiality, and effective teamwork. Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Physical Requirements and Work Environment The role requires frequent sitting, talking, hearing; occasional walking and standing, and occasional lifting up to 25lbs. Reasonable accommodations are available. Travel Approximately 25% travel is required. Work Status & Location Full‑time, exempt position located in West Chicago (Batavia/St.Charles area).
