South Main Iron is looking for a professional, organized, and customer-focused Service Writer / Service Advisor to join our Service Department in Paris, Texas.

The Service Writer is the primary connection between our customers and our technicians. This person is responsible for listening to customer concerns, creating accurate repair orders, communicating with technicians, providing estimates and updates, obtaining repair approvals, and helping move every job efficiently from check-in through completion.

We are looking for someone who communicates extremely well, stays organized in a fast-paced environment, pays attention to details, and takes pride in providing an excellent customer experience.

Experience in powersports, automotive, motorcycles, ATVs/UTVs, parts, service, or mechanical repair is strongly preferred. However, we are willing to consider the right person with strong customer service skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to learn quickly.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Service Writer / Service Advisor, you will:

• Greet service customers professionally in person and by phone
• Listen carefully to customer concerns and ask appropriate follow-up questions
• Create clear, detailed, and accurate repair orders
• Properly document customer concerns for technicians
• Schedule service appointments and help manage the daily service workload
• Coordinate closely with technicians, Parts, and Service management
• Prepare and communicate repair estimates to customers
• Obtain customer authorization before additional work is performed
• Keep customers informed about repair status, parts delays, additional repairs, and expected completion
• Explain technician findings and recommended repairs in a way customers can understand
• Maintain accurate notes, photos, records, and documentation throughout the repair process
• Review repair orders for accuracy and completeness
• Communicate recommended maintenance and additional repairs without using high-pressure sales tactics
• Review completed repairs and charges with customers at vehicle pickup
• Assist with warranty documentation and communication when needed
• Follow established dealership procedures and documentation standards
• Help maintain an organized and professional Service Department
• Provide an excellent customer experience from initial check-in through vehicle pickup

• Interested in motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, automobiles, or mechanical equipment

EXPERIENCE THAT IS A PLUS

Previous experience in any of the following is preferred:

• Service Writer / Service Advisor
• Powersports dealership
• Automotive dealership
• Motorcycle dealership
• ATV/UTV dealership
• Independent automotive or repair shop
• Parts counter / Parts Advisor
• Mechanic / Technician
• Customer service
• Dealership or repair-order management software

Previous powersports experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate .

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and/or Motorcycle Endorsement (preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to learn dealership software and internal processes
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate professionally by phone, text, email, and in person
• Reliable attendance and transportation
• Ability to work on-site at our dealership in Paris, Texas
