Reports To: Catering Manager and Event Leadership
Schedule: On-call / Event-Based Scheduling (No set weekly schedule)

Position Summary

The Catering Staff position at SeaQuake Brewing & SeaFront Baking Company supports catered events by helping create smooth, welcoming, and memorable guest experiences.
This role is responsible for assisting with event setup, food service, drink service, guest interaction, and event cleanup while representing SeaFront & SeaQuake professionally at both on-site and off-site events.
Catering Staff members work on an as-needed basis depending on scheduled events, making flexibility and reliability essential to success in this role.

Core Responsibilities

Event Setup

Assist with preparing event spaces before guests arrive.
Responsibilities include:

• Setting up tables, chairs, linens, and serving stations
• Organizing food and beverage service areas
• Assisting with buffet and catering displays
• Preparing supplies and service materials for events
• Following event setup instructions provided by leadership

Attention to detail helps create a polished and professional event experience.

Food & Beverage Service

Provide friendly and professional service during catered events.
Responsibilities include:

• Serving food and beverages to guests
• Assisting guests with questions about menu items
• Monitoring buffet stations and replenishing items as needed
• Maintaining clean and organized service areas
• Supporting smooth event flow throughout service

Hospitality and professionalism are essential during every event.

Event Cleanup

Assist with breakdown and cleanup after events.
Responsibilities include:

• Clearing tables and service areas
• Packing catering equipment and supplies
• Cleaning event spaces
• Assisting with dishwashing and organization
• Ensuring all event materials are properly returned and stored

Strong cleanup execution helps events finish smoothly and efficiently.

Team Support & Flexibility

Work closely with the Catering Manager and event team to support successful events.
Responsibilities include:

• Following direction from event leadership
• Assisting teammates during busy periods
• Adapting to changing event needs
• Maintaining a positive and professional attitude

Catering events require strong teamwork and flexibility.

Scheduling Expectations

This is an on-call/event-based position.

• There is not a set weekly schedule
• Shifts are scheduled based on upcoming catering and event needs
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and special events may be required
• Team members are expected to communicate availability clearly and reliably

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs repeatedly (Folding Tables, Chairs, Trays, Food Trays)
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to move tables, chairs, and catering supplies
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced event environments
• Must be over the age of 18 for alcohol serving requirements.
