Scheduler - Surgical Services

The schedule for this position varies, the hours for the department are Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm.

Job Summary:

Performs clerical and scheduling duties in the GI department under the supervision of the SSSU Director and/ or charge RN. Coordinates pre and post procedure activities. Responsible for scheduling GI procedure & appointments, making pre-procedure calls for registration and procedure explanations, making follow-up appointments as required and communication to appropriate designated areas. Duties expanded as directed.

Education and Training:

• High school diploma or GED, required.

Licensures and Certifications:

• If the selected candidate is also a CNA, then a current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification car on hire or within orientation period is required.

Skills and Abilities:

• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Competent in the use of computers, fax, and copy machine.
