Job Overview

This role involves responsibilities that do not include direct patient care, focusing instead on general cleaning and the processing of ventilators and various equipment utilized by the department. Additional tasks encompass inventory management, monitoring the usage of medical gases, inspecting medical gas outlets as instructed, and performing other assigned duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and process instruments between procedures in accordance with established protocols, ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly.
• Disassemble and reassemble departmental equipment while conducting related function checks.
• Transport instruments and supplies to and from the Sterile Processing Department stock area and/or Material Management.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels of supplies, including sterile and disposable items, across various hospital locations such as the Operating Room, Labor & Delivery, MedSTAR, and the Emergency Room. Replace depleted stock to maintain par levels and place orders for replenishment.

Qualifications

• Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required. Enrollment in a COARC-approved Respiratory Therapy program or an Associate's degree in a COARC-approved Respiratory Therapy program is also necessary. One year of relevant education may substitute for one year of required work experience.
• Experience: Preferred candidates will have less than one year of clinical rotation experience in Respiratory Therapy within an acute care hospital setting.
• Licenses and Certifications: CPR certification (including BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross is required within 90 days of hire. Additional unit or specialty certifications may vary by department.

Compensation

This position offers a salary range of USD $18.70 - USD $32.72 per hour .
