Job Overview

General Summary of Position
This role involves non-patient care responsibilities, including general cleaning and the processing of ventilators and other equipment utilized by the department. Additional tasks encompass stocking supplies, monitoring and analyzing the usage of medical gases, inspecting medical gas outlets as instructed, and performing other assigned duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducts cleaning and processing of instruments between procedures, adhering to established protocols, and ensures that equipment is functioning correctly.
• Disassembles and reassembles departmental equipment, performing necessary function checks and cleaning components according to set guidelines.
• Collects and delivers instruments and supplies to and from the Sterile Processing Department stock area and/or Material Management.
• Maintains adequate stock levels of supplies, including sterile and disposable items, across designated areas of the hospital, such as the Operating Room, Labor & Delivery, MedSTAR, and the Emergency Room. Replenishes depleted stock to established levels and places orders as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Enrollment in a COARC-approved Respiratory Therapy program is necessary, either through a Vocational/Technical Diploma or an Associate's degree.
• One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience

• Preferred: Less than one year of clinical rotation experience in Respiratory Therapy within an acute care hospital.

Licenses and Certifications

• CPR certification (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation), which includes BLS and NRP, is required for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross, to be obtained within 90 days.

Compensation

This position offers a salary range of USD $21.34 - USD $32.72 per hour.
