Location St. Louis Children's Hospital One Children's Place St. Louis, MO 63110 Additional Information About The Role Day/Night Rotation OR Straight Nights; 12‑hr shifts Holiday Rotation Every 3rd Weekend On‑going education and learning opportunities Robust Bone Marrow Transplant program Benefits eligible Preferred Requirements BSN Prior pediatric Hem/Onc RN experience Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Engages in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and the patient, family or caregiver, following established guidelines and standards. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs. Recognizes this as a safety‑sensitive position. Maintains a constant state of alertness and performs duties safely.
