Program Manager, Data Center/Disaster Recovery OperationsProject ManagerBoston, MAAsset Management Financial ServicesJO-1701-332Responsibilities:Managing multiple, simultaneous data center projects from inception through completion/migrationSupporting renovations, relocations, and upgrades of existing facilities or collocated facilitiesGathering internal and external requirements and delivering solutions that satisfy the customer's needs for both data center management and disaster recovery operationsMaintaining end-to end responsibility, from construction to deployment, including testing and documentationConducting monthly/quarterly/yearly planning and coordination exercises with KPIs and reporting to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the program, as well as compliance with our overall data center and disaster recovery programsManaging vendor relationshipsEnsuring compliance with any applicable local, state, or national regulations and industry best practices for data center and disaster recovery operations, such as TIA-942, Uptime Institute, and National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF)Establishing an availability capability at our privately owned or collocated facility that enables recovery of tier 1 applications in support of core business functionalityDeveloping and maintaining an effective availability program over time, inclusive of recovery/failover plan updates, testing, scheduling, policy improvements, and expanded application requirementsEvaluating, analyzing, and calculating security risks and recommending robust disaster recovery proceduresPreparing a disaster recovery operational plan based on the company's business continuity plan, business impact analysis, and/or business recovery documentsWorking in conjunction and harmoniously with the Business Continuity teamManaging the ongoing development, maintenance, and enhancement of data center/disaster recovery-related activities, which include an annual planning workshop, quarterly management briefings, weekly change management meetings, data center/disaster recovery awareness and education sessions, updating IT recovery/failover plan content, and supporting periodic tests of the availability capacityPlanning, developing, and implementing an Operations Center (OC) for IT systemsManaging a team of 2–4 employeesQualifications:Able to work independently and make emergent decisionsSuccessfully completed specialized training and delivery of disaster recovery and managementSelf-starter, needs minimal supervisionBudget and financial experienceAn understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast-track design build processes and associated documents and contractsBachelor's degree (or higher) in computer science or information systems, or related work experienceAt least 5 years of experience in computing, or related area, with a focus on technology, management, policy, and securityAt least 5 years of proven data center management/design/operations experienceAt least 5 years of disaster recovery design, planning, and executing experienceProven project management experience with projects of similar size and scopeDelivery of multiple disaster recovery/data center solutions in various locations in the U.S.At least 4 years of experience managing complex, multigroup, multidisciplinary projectsExperience with data center equipment/environments, including switch gears, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems, and an understanding of startup/commissioning processes preferred
