Job Title Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Behavioral Health Location Roanoke, VA Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient nursing care for adult patients with complex medical conditions, co-occurring behavioral health needs, and substance use disorders on a specialized 12-bed unit Perform assessment, stabilization, and treatment interventions utilizing a multidisciplinary team approach alongside physicians, therapists, case managers, and addiction specialists Manage peripheral line care, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions Participate in Rapid Response and Code team activations as needed Support medication management, behavioral interventions, and discharge planning to facilitate successful transitions to community-based services May be required to serve in a charge nurse capacity and to precept staff; float within skillset as needed Required Qualifications Active Virginia State RN license or active Compact RN license required (pending license considered only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state) Current BLS certification required Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered Proficiency in Med/Surg nursing care with demonstrated experience utilizing Rapid Response and Code teams EPIC electronic health records experience required Ability to meet weekend requirements (every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block) and work at least one holiday per 13-week contract Preferred Experience / Skills Experience caring for patients with substance use disorders and/or behavioral health conditions in an inpatient setting Familiarity with recovery-oriented, evidence-based care models within a multidisciplinary team environment Prior charge nurse or preceptor experience Why Join Us Opportunity to work within a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center recognized for excellence in nursing care Join a specialized unit committed to delivering compassionate, integrated medical and behavioral health care that makes a meaningful impact on patient recovery outcomes Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 773373.
