About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a large hospital; level 1 preferred, level 2 accepted. License: Active RN license or compact license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; NIHSS preferred. Must-Have: - EPIC experience - Ventilator experience - Ability to work every other holiday - Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment Description: Winter jobs available with a 13-week contract. Travelers must be willing to float to other units based on skill sets and census. Targeted patient ratios are 1:4, but can be up to 1:5 or 1:6 as needed. Nurses are required to have excellent critical thinking skills and time management abilities. Patient populations include DKA, GI bleed, COPD, pneumonia, stroke, sepsis, and urology complications. Daily average census is typically 31 patients. Travelers must manage high-acuity, fast-paced step-down care. Fitting for N95 masks will be done prior to working in specialized units. Floating may occur between multiple facility campuses based on patient needs. Submit maximum of 14 days of requested time off, but no additional requests will be accepted after an offer is made. Candidates must complete lab work and EKG/dysrhythmia exam within set timeframes upon confirmation of the assignment. References are not required for submission.
