Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.Schedule: Monday through Friday a 37.5-hour work week, between the hours of 7:15 am to 5:30 pm. (one to two late nights to 8:00 pm per week) Occasional Saturday hours from 8:00am to noon. The schedule will be determined by the supervisor upon hire.Location: 575 Underhill Blvd. Suite 190, Syosset, NY 11791Primary ResponsibilitiesGreets patients, family members and guests with a friendly smileAssists patients with signing in and completing registrationEnters and scans patient's demographic and insurance information into EpicVerifies insurance eligibility and benefit information; informs patients of insurance benefitsCollects co-payments and patient balancesScheduling appointments and procedures in an organized and efficient mannerAnswers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messagesFollow the Payment Security policy and procedures according to Optum Medical guidelinesAbility to maintain a work queue list- complete any pending actions ie referrals, scheduling appointmentsAbility to maintain the in-basket messaging and work the daily DARsCheck In and Check Out PatientsAssists physician and clinical staff by coordinating follow up care for patients; schedules referral appointments for patients and obtains authorization for diagnostic testingSends patient records to primary care physicianAssists with other tasks as assignedHandle resolution/inquiries from members and/or clinical teamAssist with onboarding new employeesResponsible managing daily scheduleResponsible for EPIC superuser statusAbility to support all staff and leadership in their rolesAbility to de-escalate and resolve patient complaintsProvide guidance / consultation to other team membersEducate the team on the continuum of integrated carePerforms all other related duties as assignedWhat are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group? The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment.
