Location: NYC | Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote
Salary: $200K–$210K base
Industry: Healthcare preferred
Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Payroll to oversee payroll operations for 4,000+ employees in a complex, high-volume environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end high-volume, biweekly payroll operations.
- Manage and develop the payroll team.
- Ensure payroll tax, NY, and multi-state compliance.
- Oversee reconciliations, reporting, controls, and process improvements.
- Partner with HR, Finance, and senior leadership.
- Support payroll system enhancements and integrations.
Requirements
- 8+ years of payroll experience , including leadership.
- Experience managing payroll for 4,000+ employees .
- Strong NY and multi-state payroll knowledge.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Union payroll experience is a major plus.
- Experience with ADP, Workday, Paylocity, Paycom, or similar systems is a plus.
