Data Engineer

Overview We are looking for a Data Engineer strong in SQL and ETL development, SSIS, and data modeling. Responsibilities Design data models and custom development of data models so the data flows into Tableau and PowerBI correctly. Build database views to summarize the data and pull the data correctly. Look over multiple databases they work with, mainly SQL, and understand the data in each database. Make enhancements to dashboards within Tableau and PowerBI. Validate data: perform first level checks, compare original values to new values, ensure data loads and refreshes correctly. Receive requests for new views or metrics, implement them, and manage tickets/requests in Jira. Source data from a Hadoop platform; this work will continue to grow. Work with APIs, ingest data from APIs, and write scripts in Shell or Python. Communicate effectively with stakeholders. Additional Skills & Qualifications Validating data: first level checks, comparing original and new data, ensuring accurate loads and refresh. Ability to take requests for new views or metrics and implement them. Experience using Jira to manage tickets and requests. Experience with Hadoop platform; the scope of this will grow.
