Security Clearance Status: Not Required Job Summary This is an amazing opportunity for an Assembly and Test Mechanic. This role operates a 3rd Shift, Sunday - Thursday, midnight - 7:00 a.m., work 6.5 hours and get paid for 8 hours. Responsibilities Work from procedures, preliminary sketches, operation sheets, layouts, complicated drawings, written engineering, supervisor or lead mechanic or electronic work instructions. Layout, fabricate, assemble, and modify jet engine assembly or test articles, test stands, equipment, and support systems. Use power and mechanical tools to perform functional checks on engine assembly/components or test equipment/test components. Operate tools to assemble/disassemble a jet engine or APU or operate support utilities to run the test article. Check all phases of assembly/disassembly including inspecting critical functions for final inspection ensuring adherence to quality standards. Monitor instrumentation and perform engine service during test. Assist in training up to two team members during the assembly/disassembly or test process. Complete appropriate documentation/sign‑off in assembly/disassembly or test procedures as required. Prepare test article for delivery to test cell after assembly. Perform basic instrumentation troubleshooting, reconfigure or repair test stand, test systems and test equipment. Maintain test facilities, support systems, and special test equipment; inspect, maintain and report. Remove instrumentation, equipment and utilities to de‑prep, dismount, and preserve test article for shipment. Ensure all functions follow Pratt & Whitney, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality policies. Perform related work assignments as directed by supervision or lead mechanics that support department objectives. Basic Qualifications High school graduate or GED. 1+ years of formal training in power‑plant mechanics and testing or automotive training or experience. Preferred Qualifications A & P License. 4+ years in a similar function. Previous MRO/FAR 145 repair station experience. Formal training in power plant mechanics and testing. Well‑rounded knowledge of FAA and aviation standards, jet engine design and operation, jet engine hardware and components, instrumentation installations, engine assembly or test stand experience. SAP, Solumina experience. Creative troubleshooting skills. Excellent judgment and professional maturity. Exceptional people and interpersonal skills.
