Role & Responsibilities The Dishwasher’s primary objective is to maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment while supporting the culinary team with basic food preparation. This role plays a key part in overall kitchen efficiency and provides a pathway for growth into prep and event cook positions. Key Responsibilities Take full responsibility for the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment Load, operate, and unload the dish machine efficiently Monitor water temperature and chemical levels to ensure proper sanitation standards Keep dish machine clean and report any mechanical or operational issues promptly Properly wash, sanitize, air dry, and store all kitchenware and utensils Maintain adequate levels of dishwashing chemicals and cleaning supplies Keep dish room, food prep, and production areas clean and organized Remove trash and maintain cleanliness of kitchen and surrounding areas Ensure exterior areas remain clean and presentable Clean restrooms and facility areas daily and as needed Assist chefs with basic food prep (washing, peeling, chopping vegetables; portioning ingredients) Prepare simple recipes and ingredients under chef supervision Support setup and breakdown of kitchen stations for events and service Label, date, and properly store food items following food safety standards Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, walk‑ins, and dry storage Learn proper knife skills and kitchen techniques with guidance from culinary leadership Qualifications & Requirements At least 1 year of experience in a restaurant dish room or kitchen preferred Interest in learning culinary skills and growing within a kitchen environment Customer service experience is a plus Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to stay positive and efficient in a fast‑paced environment Reliable transportation Competitive hourly pay (based on experience) Annual raises based on performance Cross‑training in prep and kitchen operations Clear path to Prep Cook and Event Cook roles Opportunities to work high‑profile events and expand culinary experience Ongoing mentorship from experienced chefs and kitchen leaders Strong promote‑from‑within culture Additional Information This job description is intended to outline the general responsibilities of the role and is not a complete list of all duties.
