About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 Years of Experience in the Operating Room with various specialties License: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse Certifications: PALS, BLS, ACLS Required Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program Highly desired: BSN Description: The operating room nurse is responsible for scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures. This role includes department admissions to the operative suite. Adheres to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques. Consults and coordinates with team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans. Serves as a communication liaison to patients, families, and members of the operating team. Prepares the operating room for the patient and surgical procedure. Assembles equipment and supplies, ensuring equipment is functional and supplies/implants are available. Responsible for one week of day call per week and one call weekend per month.
