Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of students by providing dedicated instructional and behavioral support in an engaging school setting. This contract opportunity focuses on working with a student who requires a high level of one-on-one assistance, ensuring a supportive learning environment. You'll collaborate closely with teachers and staff to deliver meaningful educational experiences and positively impact each day.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit in hand (applications in process not accepted; if pending, a screenshot of the DEEDS portal showing status must be provided)
  • Experience as a paraprofessional, especially within school environments
  • Comfort supporting students who need significant instructional and behavioral guidance
  • Willingness to undergo CBC fingerprinting and cover the $85 fee
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work onsite, Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner one-on-one or in a small 1:2 ratio with students, providing direct academic and behavioral guidance
  • Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and classroom management
  • Implement behavioral strategies as outlined in individualized plans
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and support strategies
  • Communicate regularly with teachers, staff, and families to monitor student success
  • Uphold confidentiality and student safety at all times

This role offers a contract placement with steady weekday hours, providing stability in a rewarding educational setting. You'll play a vital role in shaping the start of a student's learning journey, helping ensure they receive the support needed from their very first day.
