Details Position Title: Elementary Teacher Location: Sweet Home Independent School District Length of Work Year: 10 Months Position Summary Provide students with engaging, standards‑aligned learning experiences that support academic growth and whole‑child development. The teacher fosters a structured, positive classroom environment, builds strong relationships, and uses data‑driven instruction to ensure all students reach their full potential. What We Value Relationships First – We build trust and connection with students and families High Expectations – We believe all students can achieve at high levels Strong Culture – We foster accountability, integrity, and respect Student‑Centered Focus – Every decision is made with students in mind Position Requirements Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; Valid Texas teaching certificate (appropriate grade level/subject area) Experience: Teaching, student‑teaching, internship, or related experience preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of elementary curriculum and instructional best practices; strong classroom management and student engagement strategies; ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs; strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff Responsibilities and Duties Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and district curriculum Deliver engaging, student‑centered instruction that meets the diverse learning needs of all students Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate accommodations to support individual student success Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and safe classroom environment that promotes learning Manage student behavior in accordance with district policies and expectations Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instructional decisions and interventions Provide timely and meaningful feedback to students to support academic growth Support the academic, social, and emotional development of all students Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress Communicate effectively and consistently with students, parents, and staff Participate in parent conferences, ARDs/504 meetings, and campus activities as required Collaborate with colleagues, instructional staff, and administration to improve student outcomes Support and embody the mission and vision of Sweet Home ISD Application Procedures District Employees: Submit letter requesting transfer/reassignment by deadline.
