About the role Sledge is hiring a Video Editor to own how Sledge looks and sounds in motion, start to finish: the cut, the graphics, the animation, the sound, and the story. Every video Sledge puts out runs through you: YouTube, Shorts, Reels, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and the website, in long-form, short-form, and vlogs. That covers viral and meme-style content, product marketing, SaaS-style explainers, and PR. This role reports to the marketing team and works closely with the founders. You'll turn raw jobsite footage, product demos, and half-baked ideas into finished videos people actually stop scrolling for.This is a hands-on craft role. Sledge wants someone who cuts and edits by hand in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects, not someone who prompts a generator. No AI-generated video or footage. If your reel leans on Runway, Sora, or similar tools, this role isn't a fit.Sledge doesn't have a big footage library yet. You'll need to source stock footage, images, and video clips, or create content from scratch when nothing exists to work with. Down the line Sledge plans to bring on a videographer to shoot original footage, but for now this role has to solve for that gap. What you'll do Turn raw jobsite and interview footage into finished videos people actually want to watch Source and curate stock footage, images, and video clips when Sledge doesn't have raw material on hand Create original content yourself when nothing exists to source or edit Cut viral and meme-style social videos that get shared, not scrolled past Cut native content for YouTube, Shorts, Reels, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X, built for each platform, not just resized Produce product marketing, SaaS-style, campaign, and PR videos in a fast, punchy style Build the graphics, animations, and transitions that hold a video together Stitch footage, graphics, voiceover, and music into one finished piece Record or direct voiceovers, and sync music and sound to picture Shape the story of each video, not just assemble the clips Keep a consistent visual and editing style across every video Sledge puts out Work closely with the marketing and founding team on a fast moving launch timeline What we're looking for Must-haves 3+ years of hands-on video editing experience, ideally in social or marketing content A strong portfolio or reel of videos you edited yourself, the wilder the better Required: prior professional experience editing video in Adobe Premiere Pro Required: prior professional experience with Adobe After Effects Comfortable sourcing stock footage, images, and clips, and creating content from scratch when nothing is provided Comfortable building motion graphics, transitions, and simple animations from scratch A sharp sense of pacing, sound design, music syncing, and narrative storytelling An instinct for what actually gets shared, not just what looks nice Comfortable working across long-form, short-form, and vlog formats Comfortable moving at startup speed, taking raw footage and running with it Nice-to-haves Experience shooting or directing on-site Experience growing a channel or account from scratch Perks and benefits Fully remote, work from anywhere in the world Flexible hours, work when you're most productive Direct access to the marketing and founding team, no layers of management Your videos ship fast, no six-layer approval chain Shape Sledge's video and visual identity from the ground up Equal opportunity Sledge is an equal opportunity employer.
