Electronics Technician II

Description

SAIC is seeking an Electronics Technician II to support our contract in Hanahan, SC .

The Electronics Technician maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices.

The successful incumbent applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

The Electronics Technician Maintenance II applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers manuals or similar documents.

Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program. Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.

Experience: Four (4) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout. Must demonstrate at least one (1) year of practical experience in electronics installation. Experience may be achieved simultaneously.

Clearance: Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance. Active clearance preferred.
