Staff Accountant
An established Portland-based organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of its finance department. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with monthly close, and ensuring the integrity of the general ledger. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment where accuracy and consistency are highly valued.


Salary:
$65,000 to $75,000, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
  
  
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  
  
• Analyze account activity and investigate variances
  
  
• Support financial statement preparation and reporting
  
  
• Assist with audit requests and compliance activities
  
  
• Maintain accurate general ledger records
  
  
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  
  
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
  
  
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
  
  
• Proficiency in Excel and other accounting software
