The Cook III position is a senior culinary role responsible for preparing high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment while ensuring consistency, taste, and presentation meet established standards. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines. The Cook III will collaborate closely with kitchen staff and management to develop menus, manage inventory, and optimize kitchen workflows to enhance efficiency. This position requires a strong understanding of various cooking techniques and the ability to train and mentor junior cooks to uphold culinary excellence. Ultimately, the Cook III plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional dining experience that satisfies customers and supports the overall success of the food service operation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (e.g., ServSafe certification preferred).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Basic knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Culinary degree or formal culinary training from an accredited institution.
• Experience in a supervisory or lead cook role.
• Knowledge of specialized cuisines or dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, vegan).
• Familiarity with inventory management software and kitchen equipment maintenance.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
• Monitor food quality and presentation to maintain consistency and meet customer expectations.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations in the kitchen.
• Assist in menu planning, inventory management, and ordering supplies to maintain adequate stock levels.
• Train, mentor, and support junior cooks and kitchen staff to develop their culinary skills.
• Collaborate with management to implement new recipes and improve kitchen processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
