Senior Credit Risk Analyst

Main PurposeWe are seeking to hire a highly analytical and driven professional to join our Credit Team in Athens. The successful candidate will work as part of a group responsible for reviewing, approving and managing credit risk associated with trading and financing transactions across multiple products in European Metals, Minerals and Bulk sectors. The role will involve independent evaluation of credit and performance risks, definition of the risk appetite, negotiation directly with external counterparties, and collaboration with commercial teams to ensure that exposures remain appropriately structured, adequately mitigated and within acceptable limits. The successful candidate will independently manage the assigned portfolio.Key responsibilitiesReviewing counterpart information (qualitative/quantitative) and recommending credit limits for approvalManaging the credit risk of the assigned portfolio of clientsFirst point of contact for the assigned portfolioLiaising with traders to understand the commercial relationship and determine the risk appetite of the assigned counterpartsSpeaking to customers to obtain information / understand their business profile versus peer groupWork with Credit colleagues worldwide to manage exposures / set credit appetite for global groupsWorking with risk mitigation providers as part of the credit management processFollow key developments in the metals and minerals marketsWork on industry wide projectsRequired qualifications5+ years of experience in credit risk roles within a bank, trading house, or financial institutionIndependent credit approval authority and experience is a plusMust be educated in finance, trading or similar studies to degree levelFluent in EnglishAttributes for successSomeone who is organised, careful, pays attention to details, is able to work in a dynamic and high-pressured environment, dealing with a range of high priority issuesStrong analytical skillsStrong communication skills both verbal and written to be applied also during meetings/calls with clientsKey Relationships:Credit DepartmentTrading DepartmentFinance DepartmentOperations DepartmentCounterpartsReporting StructureTrafigura Head of Credit Metals and MineralsEqual opportunity employerWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and take pride in a diverse workforce!
