Per Diem Bus Driver

Student Transportation DriverThis position is responsible for the transport of students, trustees, etc. in a safe and pleasant manner. This person must be available for call-ins. This position has been evaluated for compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and is subject to premium pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a payroll week. Salary/Rate: $20 per hourRequirements:High school diplomaPrior driver experience preferredMust have a clean NYS Driver's License, CDL-C w/Passenger endorsement required, obtained for at least one yearMust have a cell phone and be able to read maps, navigate, and work a flexible scheduleEssential Functions:With or without reasonable accommodations, the incumbent must be able to read, write, and speak the English languageMust work independentlyBe able to maintain a regular and prompt attendanceMust be diverse in the acceptability of all culturesOther essential functions may be requiredResponsibilities:Operate vehicles such as vans and the University bus in a safe mannerOrder parts for shopClean University vehiclesMonitor and maintain passenger safety on bus and University vehiclesMaintains a safe working environment within and around their facilities and associated equipment and supplies including, but not limited to, obtaining Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information pertaining to any hazards associated with their work environmentSafety: Participate in safety training and comply with safety rules, regulations, and protocolsPerform additional duties and assist with special projects as assignedPhysical Environment: Personal Protective Equipment must be worn when required. A respiratory function test and the ability to use respirators may be required. Stairs and uneven surfaces may be present; Artificial lifts, etc. may or may not be available.
