Senior Principal EO/IR Systems Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to specialize in aspects of the development lifecycle of airborne electro‑optical/infrared sensor systems. The role includes design, prototype, manufacture, integration, test, and transition to production, and requires working independently and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership for the development of airborne EO/IR sensor systems from architecture through requirements verification and qualification. Transform customer needs into system level requirements and work with all engineering functions to decompose and allocate requirements to sub‑systems and components with full traceability. Develop and refine CONOPS and System Architecture using Model‑Based Systems Engineering methods. Execute modeling and simulation of system‑level performance under operational conditions. Develop and execute integration, system, and flight test plans. Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including program office, other engineering disciplines, customers, and suppliers. Develop products and implement design changes in accordance with engineering processes. Perform Control Account Management duties for scope, cost, and schedule. Qualifications You Must Have U.S. citizenship is required; only U.S. citizens can access information under this program/contract. STEM degree and 10+ years of prior work experience in a related field. Experience with the product development lifecycle of EO/IR imaging systems, including architecture, requirements, design, modeling & simulation, and/or testing. Proficiency in requirements development and management, system design and integration, test plan and procedure development, verification and test, and data analysis. Qualifications We Prefer Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field. Experience with optics and/or focal plane designs. Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML), Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and EO/IR sensor modeling and simulation using tools such as Matlab and Cameo Systems Modeler. Technical leadership on projects, including development of cost and schedule estimates, risk management, and supplier technical management. Experience leading engineering development projects, including design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR). What We Offer Salary range: $132,400 – $251,600 USD.
