Production Planner

Production Planner $50 - $75 per hour | Houston, TX | On-site | Consulting Our client is looking to hire a Production Planning Consultant for a short contract! Oil/Gas & Mud Motors. We are seeking an experienced Consulting Production Planner to join our team in the Energy Industry. This role will be instrumental in driving the operational efficiency of our production processes, ensuring optimal resource allocation, and maintaining a seamless supply chain. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing production plans, coordinating with different departments, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. Why Join Us? 2‑4 month contract opportunity Up to $75/hr Job Details Responsibilities Develop, implement, and manage production plans to meet company objectives. Collaborate with various departments such as procurement, engineering, and quality assurance to ensure a smooth production process. Analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency. Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Oversee warehouse management, ensuring optimal inventory levels, accurate record‑keeping, and efficient space utilization. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for timely delivery of materials and equipment. Use APICS and ASCM principles to manage supply chain activities effectively. Conduct risk assessments and implement contingency plans to mitigate potential production disruptions. Generate regular reports on production status, highlighting any deviations from the plan. Train and mentor team members on production planning best practices and protocols. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in production planning, preferably in the Energy industry. Proven experience with industrial machines and their operation. Certification in APICS, ASCM, CPIM, CSCP, Lean Six Sigma, and/or PMP is highly desirable. Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems and other relevant software. Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, production, and distribution. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders at all levels. Detail‑oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines. Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members. Commitment to adhering to all safety, health, and environmental policies and regulations.
