• Every sales order and incoming shipment is entered into the POS system accurately, merchandise is labeled and located correctly in FurnServ, and invoices go out complete and error-free because this specialist owns the accuracy of the store's order and inventory records.
• Customers hear about delays before they ever have to call for a status update, because open orders are monitored consistently and supplier and freight issues are resolved before they reach the customer.
• The sales team and Administrative Office Manager rely on this specialist as the dependable hub of daily store operations, with calls answered promptly, customer issues resolved with clear solutions, and new systems adopted smoothly.

OBJECTIVES

• Enter all sales orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and completely at the time of sale, reviewing each order before submission and flagging missing or incorrect information to the appropriate manager right away.
• Receive all incoming shipments and merchandise into the POS system, confirming every item is logged, labeled, and reflected in inventory before it moves to its storage or showroom location.
• Print and apply stickers for all incoming merchandise and all pieces relocated to the showroom floor, keeping FurnServ product location data accurate so the sales team can find and present products with confidence.
• Monitor all outstanding customer orders, following up with suppliers and freight lines by phone and email when an order is delayed or its status is unclear.
• Contact customers with accurate, timely order updates before they need to reach out to the store themselves.
• Answer incoming customer calls professionally, enter information accurately into company software, and coordinate scheduling requests with the customer service department so every call ends with a clear next step.
• Investigate customer issues thoroughly, identify the most practical solution, and implement or escalate it in line with Mueller Furniture's standards and policies.
• Create detailed, accurate customer invoices and review each one for completeness before it is shared, so no billing errors need correction after a transaction closes.
• Provide day-to-day administrative support to management and the sales team by answering calls, directing inquiries, and stepping in wherever help is needed to keep the store running smoothly.
• Help keep the showroom clean, organized, and inviting as part of the team's shared responsibility for every customer's in-store experience.
• Support the store through software transitions and new system implementations, maintaining accuracy during changeover periods and becoming proficient on new platforms quickly.
• Report any safety or security concerns involving company property or personnel to the Administrative Office Manager immediately.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in business administration, office management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in administrative support, order entry, customer service, or retail operations required; experience in a furniture, retail, or wholesale environment preferred.
• Strong data entry skills with proven accuracy across a high volume of order and inventory entries, and the ability to manage multiple active tasks at once, required; proficiency with a Point of Sale (POS) system or comparable retail order entry platform preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional phone presence, a demonstrated ability to investigate and resolve customer issues, and comfort learning new software systems required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to lift 25 pounds unaided from the ground when receiving and moving merchandise.
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for up to eight hours per shift while performing administrative and store support duties.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, push, and pull as required during daily store operations, including labeling merchandise and helping maintain the showroom.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Hourly pay: $26 to $28 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Pay schedule: Paid weekly.
• Schedule: Full-time retail schedule that includes weekend days, with split days off during the week.
• Location: In person at the Mueller Furniture showroom in Ellisville, Missouri.
