People Ops Associate

We are seeking a proactive and highly organized People Ops Associate to support our CEO and Business Operations Manager across people operations, finance, and company administration. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building processes, solving problems, and driving initiatives from start to finish in a fast‑paced environment. Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, you'll play a critical role in helping scale the company's operations while gaining broad exposure across the business. Please note that this is a temp-to-perm role based in San Francisco, CA. Pay would be $120k-180k/year upon conversion. Key Responsibilities Manage relationships with external recruiting partners and support a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process. Coordinate new hire onboarding and assist in developing sustainable hiring practices in partnership with legal counsel. Own, maintain, and continuously improve internal recruiting processes, systems, and tools. Serve as a resource for employees by helping answer day-to-day HR‑related questions. Support initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture. Partner with the Business Operations Manager to support day‑to‑day expense tracking, bill payments, and financial recordkeeping. Assist with implementing and maintaining efficient financial systems and operational processes. Support investor relations activities and fundraising efforts as needed. Utilize data and financial insights to help inform operational decision‑making. Oversee the smooth operation of both physical and virtual office environments. Manage vendors, facilities, office services, IT, and telecommunications support. Coordinate company‑wide logistics, meetings, and quarterly offsite events. Provide light executive support and assist with cross‑functional coordination across the organization. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and implement scalable solutions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. High attention to detail, strong ownership, integrity, and accountability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, and other modern workplace tools. Comfortable leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve productivity and workflows. Experience in business operations, finance, human resources, administration, or a related function. Strong process improvement and documentation skills. Experience supporting early‑stage startups or creative, technology, or media‑focused organizations is preferred. Familiarity with platforms such as Mercury, Rippling, Deel, and AI tools including Claude, Claude Code, or Codex is a plus. Ability to balance operational structure with the flexibility needed to support creative and innovative teams.
