About This Role

Northwest Spanish School is seeking a passionate and energetic professional to join our team as an Assistant Teacher in our Preschool.

This is a part-time position. Please apply only if you meet all the requirements listed below.

• Complete a minimum of 30 hours of child-care-related training specific to the age of children in their care every year.
• Complete a CPR and First Aid training every 2 years
• Attend Meetings and School Events
• Arrive and leave at the scheduled hours
• Understand and comply with all policies and procedures described in the Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers, NWSS Operation Policies and Discipline Policies, and the Texas Rising Star program.
• Demonstrate competency, good judgment, and self-control in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities.
• Relate to children with courtesy, respect, acceptance, and patience. Practice responsive care.
• Provide care that is consistent with the child’s habits, strengths, and any special needs.
• Perform various tasks required when dealing with young students, including but not limited to diapering and cleaning.
• Ensure a safe and risk-free environment.
• Use technology to communicate with parents and school management, or for educational purposes.
• Collaborate with coworkers and deal with ambiguity.
• Communicate in both English and Spanish with parents, students, and other employees.
• Recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children, their families, and their cultures.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's Degree in the field of Education or in an unrelated field
• High School Diploma and 3+ years of experience in the field

OTHER SKILLS

• Experience working with children
