Job Title: Registered Nurse – Correctional Facility
Location: Highland, NY
Type: Contract
Duration: 26 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Night Shift | 5 x 8-Hour Shifts | 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM | 40 Hours Per Week
Pay Rate: $60 - $69/hr (Based on Experience)

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse – Correctional Facility for an exciting Contract opportunity in Highland, NY.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.

• Maintain and manage medical inventory, including controlled substances and medication supplies.

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor residents' health status.

• Develop, review, and evaluate nursing care plans and interventions.

• Ensure nursing interventions align with residents' overall treatment plans.

• Monitor and maintain infection prevention and control standards throughout the facility.

• Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.

• Document patient care, medication administration, assessments, and clinical observations accurately and timely.

• Prepare required clinical, regulatory, and administrative reports.

• Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and multidisciplinary treatment team members.

• Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Provide health education and support to residents as appropriate.

• Maintain compliance with state regulations, facility policies, and nursing standards of practice.

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse License required.

• Current registration to practice nursing in New York State required.

• Minimum 1 year of professional nursing experience preferred.

• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.

• Ability to manage medication administration and controlled substance protocols.

• Knowledge of infection control practices and healthcare documentation standards.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous correctional, residential treatment, behavioral health, juvenile justice, or public health nursing experience preferred.

• Experience working with adolescent or young adult populations preferred.

• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred.

• Experience in medication management and emergency response preferred.
