What You'll Do As a Veterinary Receptionist, you'll serve as the communication hub of the hospital by: Welcoming clients and patients with professionalism, warmth, and compassion Answering multi-line phones , scheduling appointments, and managing daily calendars Checking patients in and out while ensuring accurate documentation Maintaining electronic medical records with attention to detail Processing invoices, payments, and client financial transactions Explaining hospital services, appointment expectations, and discharge instructions Assisting with prescription requests and medication pick-up coordination under veterinarian direction Communicating effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow Providing calm, empathetic support during urgent or emotionally sensitive situations Helping maintain an organized, welcoming front desk and lobby environment What We’re Looking For: We're seeking someone who is: Experienced in veterinary client service (not an entry-level position) Passionate about helping pets and the people who love them Friendly, professional, and confident communicating with clients Comfortable multitasking in a busy veterinary hospital Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Able to remain calm under pressure while prioritizing multiple responsibilities A collaborative team player who enjoys supporting others Preferred Qualifications Minimum of one year of veterinary receptionist, veterinary client service, or medical front desk experience Previous experience in a veterinary hospital or animal healthcare setting Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology Experience with veterinary software such as Cornerstone, AVImark, ezyVet, or similar platforms Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach Lift and carry up to 40 pounds independently and heavier pets with assistance Safely handle dogs, cats, and other companion animals of varying sizes and temperaments Work in a veterinary healthcare environment with routine exposure to animal dander, fur, saliva, cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, medications, and occasional loud noises Perform repetitive computer and telephone tasks while maintaining excellent attention to detail Why You'll Love Working With Us: Schedule This is a part-time position offering approximately two shifts per week .
