Remote Employee Support Specialist

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client for an entry-level, remote Employee Support Specialist to join their growing People team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to build a foundation in HR operations, employee relations, and workplace support while working with a collaborative, fully distributed team.

Day to day, you will be the friendly first point of contact for employees who have questions about benefits, payroll, policies, or general workplace concerns, so a genuine desire to help people and a knack for staying organized will serve you well. This role suits someone who is patient, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple inquiries at once through email, chat, and phone, all while maintaining confidentiality and a calm, professional tone.

Responsibilities

• Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, and company policies via email, chat, and phone
• Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS system
• Assist with new hire onboarding paperwork and orientation scheduling
• Track and route employee support tickets to the appropriate internal teams
• Help coordinate open enrollment and benefits communication
• Document recurring employee questions and suggest updates to FAQs and resources
• Support offboarding processes including exit paperwork and final documentation
• Escalate sensitive employee relations issues to senior HR staff as needed
• Assist with compliance recordkeeping and audit preparation
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives for the employee support function

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required, associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Comfortable using email, chat platforms, and video conferencing tools
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a remote setting
• Customer service or administrative experience is a plus
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet home workspace
