Global Engineering Financial Controller (Automotive)

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Engineering Finance Manager to support financial planning, reporting, and operational controllership activities across global Engineering Research & Development (ER&D) organizations. This role serves as a key business partner to engineering and finance leadership, ensuring financial transparency, compliance, and effective management of engineering investments across multiple regions. The successful candidate will lead budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and special initiatives while collaborating with global engineering, accounting, tax, treasury, and purchasing teams to drive process improvements and support strategic business objectives. Key Responsibilities Manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for engineering services across North America and global regions, including South America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to engineering and finance leadership. Prepare and present financial analyses, reports, and management updates to support business decision‑making. Global Engineering Finance Support Partner with engineering teams to optimize ER&D spending and improve financial efficiency across programs and projects. Support the development and execution of regional funding strategies and engineering investment plans. Ensure alignment with global engineering and finance organizations regarding financial processes, reporting standards, and funding requirements. Accounting & Compliance Coordinate related‑party transactions and ensure compliance with IFRS and corporate accounting policies. Support contract execution, intercompany settlements, and cash flow management activities. Collaborate with accounting, tax, treasury, and purchasing teams to implement financial controls and process improvements. Process Improvement & Special Projects Lead and support engineering finance transformation initiatives, process enhancements, and automation opportunities. Contribute to the evolution of the Global Engineering Finance operating model. Support strategic ER&D and corporate finance special projects as required. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline. MBA required for candidates without a Finance or Accounting degree. Minimum 5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, FP&A, or Controllership functions. Minimum 2 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑priority financial analyses and recommendations under tight deadlines. Preferred Qualifications MBA and/or CPA designation preferred. Experience with SAP and enterprise financial systems. Knowledge of Essbase or similar financial planning and reporting tools. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and controllership processes. Experience supporting engineering, product development, manufacturing, or technical organizations. Automotive industry experience preferred.
