The PCA is assigned to work under the supervision of a registered nurse who delegates tasks based upon patient needs and PCA skills and abilities. Typical duties include, but are not limited to patient care needs, transporting patients, specimens and/or supplies. The PCA will report all deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Graduation from a school of practical nursing OR completion of one of the following: a Certified PCA/PCT Program; a Certified Nurse Assistant Program or equivalent training; a Medical Assistant Program; an EMT program; a phlebotomy training program. At least 2 years of work experience as a patient care associate / tech (must be inpatient setting). With six (6) months direct patient care experience, preferred.
