Controller

Our nonprofit client is workforce development organization. Through industry-driven training programs, they connect people to family-wage careers while helping employers build the workforce they need to succeed. They are seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to join our leadership team.

Key Responsibilitie

• sLead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial strategy
• .Oversee accounting operations including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close
• .Manage grant and contract compliance, reporting, and audits across federal, state, and private funding sources
• .Prepare and present financial statements, variance analyses, and reports
• .Strengthen internal controls, risk management practices, and financial policies
• .Lead annual audits, tax filings, and compliance with GAAP and Uniform Guidance requirements
• .Improve financial systems, processes, and organizational infrastructure
• .Supervise and mentor finance and administrative staff while fostering a collaborative, mission-driven culture
• .Partner with program leaders and development staff on budgeting, financial planning, and grant proposal support

Qualificatio

• nsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferre
• d.Progressive accounting and financial leadership experience, ideally within nonprofit, grant-funded, or mission-driven organization
• s.Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and internal control
• s.Experience managing federal and state grants, compliance requirements, and funder reportin
