AR Accountant (Temp-hire)

Position Summary The Accounts Receivable / General Ledger Accountant will support a fast?paced manufacturing environment by managing the full AR cycle while assisting with key GL functions during month?end close.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

• Process customer invoices for domestic and international shipments, ensuring accuracy of pricing, freight charges, and sales tax.
• Apply customer payments (ACH, wire, lockbox, checks) and reconcile cash receipts to the AR subledger.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, short?pays, chargebacks, and customer deductions.
• Monitor aging reports and support collections efforts by communicating with customers regarding outstanding balances.
• Maintain customer account records, credit memos, and adjustments in accordance with company policies.
• Coordinate with Sales, Shipping, and Customer Service to resolve billing issues and support order?to?cash accuracy.

General Ledger Support

• Assist with month?end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger and investigate variances.
• Support inventory?related accounting tasks such as reconciling shipments, returns, and manufacturing?related charges.
• Prepare schedules for internal reporting and external audits as needed.
• Assist with revenue recognition documentation and compliance with company accounting policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or distribution.
• Strong understanding of the full AR cycle and foundational GL accounting.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar).
• Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to manage high?volume transactions.
