A day in the life
Morning starts on the shop floor in Willoughby, OH, reviewing the day’s production plan. You’ll pull the next job, load programs, and complete a meticulous setup to hit tolerance on the first piece. Through the day, you’ll switch between CNC setups and short manual machining tasks to keep runs on track. When a machine drifts, you’ll make offsets and fine-tune tooling. If a hiccup appears, you troubleshoot calmly, keep safety first, and get production back to peak efficiency.
What you’ll do- Own CNC machine setups and changeovers for varied production runs.
- Dial-in setups for accuracy, performance, and repeatability.
- Apply manual machining techniques to support and complement CNC work.
- Monitor operations, adjust tooling/offsets, and verify parts meet spec.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on CNC equipment.
- Partner with teammates to refine processes and elevate throughput.
- Champion safety protocols and keep a clean, organized workstation.
- Hands-on experience setting up and changing over CNC machines.
- Solid manual machining ability and comfort with common shop tools.
- Fluency reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Sharp attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.
- Resourceful problem solver who can work independently.
- Clear communicator and reliable team player.
- High school diploma or equivalent; machining certification a plus.
- CNC setup and changeover for production.
- Efficient, accurate machine setups for repeatable runs.
- Manual machining skills to support CNC operations.
