Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, is accepting applications for teaching positions in the following subject areas: Associate Producer for Eagle Television English Math Science Social Studies Theology Visual Arts Teacher (with an emphasis in Film Production) World Languages: Spanish, French, Mandarin, and American Sign Language (ASL) Santa Margarita Catholic High School seeks to bring the nurturing charism of Caritas Christi – the love of Christ – to our community of faith and learning. Centered in this charism, we work jointly with each other and parents to provide an educational experience that incorporates compassion, humility, justice, and goodness, and the Santa Margarita learning outcomes below: Religious and spiritual formation Intellectual and academic development Physical and personal growth Social awareness and moral development We seek to encourage in our students a positive sense of self-worth, self-discipline, personal responsibility, successful interpersonal relationships, commitment to Gospel values, and a desire to contribute positively to both the global community and the immediate society in which they live. Each Teacher is required to: Instructional Plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to the goals and objectives outlined in the course curriculum and agreed to in your PLC (Professional Learning Community). Teach students the required curriculum. Facilitate student learning by supplementing regular curriculum materials with a variety of instructional aides and activities. Establish developmentally appropriate instructional and behavioral expectations for students and communicate these expectations to the students and their families by having them sign classroom rules. Design a variety of assessment techniques that measure student knowledge or skills related directly to curriculum goals and objectives and as agreed to in your PLC. Maintain a classroom atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Organize the classroom efficiently to meet the educational needs of the students. Integrate the use of the Tablet P.C. into classroom pedagogy on a regular basis. Teach 5 periods, have one preparation period to plan, and one during which internal subbing can be assigned. Begin each class period with a prayer. Have students join in saying the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag after the morning prayer. Post all homework and assignments on OneNote/Teams and be sure they are updated weekly. Provide a program of study that addresses the needs of students with learning differences. Use homework effectively for drill, review, enrichment, or project work. Know the procedures for dealing with issues of an emergency nature, such as fire, earthquake, or other crisis situation. Prepare adequate information and materials for a substitute teacher when absent from school. Provide a current seating chart for all classes that have been downloaded from Aeries with student pictures. Take accurate attendance in Aeries each period and follow all school attendance procedures. Assume continuous responsibility for the well-being, health and safety of the students. Publish student progress and performance weekly in Aeries Browser, the school's computerized grading program. Professional Keep current in the educational field through course work, in-service activities, professional literature, conferences, workshops, etc. Submit proof of 75 hours of Professional Growth every 3 years according to Diocesan policy and for advancement on the salary scale. Continually assess own instructional effectiveness. Maintain membership in appropriate professional organizations. Assist with the ongoing curriculum revision process in your department. Participate in 2 supervision duties per year outside of the regular school day, one of which must be a service event and one an activity event. If you chaperone an overnight event, you get credit for both events. Attend Back-to-School Night and Open House in the fall and Graduation in the spring. Perform the necessary clerical responsibilities related to the classroom responsibilities. Be available for student help before and/or after the teaching day by adhering to the faculty hours of 7:40am until 3:15pm . Follow, support, and enforce the school's policies and procedures as outlined in the Parent/Student Handbook. Maintain professional behavior in relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Work closely and collaboratively with colleagues in a supportive and constructive manner. Have good attendance and be prompt to school/class. Provide immediate and appropriate responses based on student needs, including responding to parent requests within 24 hours. Model learning and behavior consistent with the expectations for students. Attend faculty meetings, department meetings, PLC meetings, Faculty Faith Formation meetings, and in-services as required. Attend and supervise all school-wide Masses, assemblies, and rallies. Adhere to all policies for faculty regarding the use of social media. Adhere to all responsibilities set forth in the Faculty Handbook. Personal Demonstrate character, enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality. Model the school charism, Caritas Christi. Must model all behaviors outlined in both the Faculty Handbook and the Employee Handbook for the Diocese of Orange. Maintain a personal appearance that is in agreement with the faculty dress code. Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff by treating others with friendliness, dignity, and consideration. Recognize the need for good public relations by always representing the school in a favorable and professional manner. Make an effort to appreciate and understand the uniqueness of the Santa Margarita community. Requirements/Qualifications: Interested candidates must minimally have a bachelor's degree and a California Teaching Credential or a master's degree in related field. Candidates should have the ability to participate in teamwork and shared decision-making, have excellent oral and written communicative skills, and are proficient in technology. Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 annually. Placement on Faculty Salary Scale. This is a 10-month position. Full-time roles include benefits as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
