NurseMcLaren FlintDepartment: 6 S Critical Care UnitShift: NightsDaily Work Times: 7:00 pm - 7:30 amScheduled Hours per Pay: 72Position Summary:Responsible for assessing physiological, emotional, and spiritual needs of each patient within assigned unit area and planning nursing care to meet those needs. Responsible to see that nursing care plans are carried out through performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Adheres to standards of nursing practice of McLaren Flint, which consists of systematic approach to nursing practice by using nursing process.Assesses and documents patient's status on admission and continuously thereafter including procedural areasDevelops written plan of care, including long and short range goals and nursing actions.Inpatient Units:Required:· Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice nursing in Michigan.· BLS· ACLS Certification within 6 months of hire or transfer for units specified: 2 Central, 4 Central, CCU, ICU, PCU, ER, and 12 SouthAdditional Qualifications of Specialty UnitsCardiovascular Services / CVCURequired:· Minimum of two years of experience required in a cardiac critical care unit, step down unit such as 12T, 9T, 4C, PACU, etc OR in a cardiac cath lab OR in an emergency department.· ACLS within 6 months of hire or transferPreferred:Previous experience in pulling arterial lines or venous sheathsKnowledge of Intra-aortic Balloon PumpsCath LabRequired:· Minimum of two years of experience required in a cardiac critical care unit (2C, CCU, ICU), step down units (4C, 9T, 12T), Emergency Department, PACU, Cardiac Cath Lab, EP Lab or Neuro Interventional Procedures Lab.· ACLS within 6 months of hire or transferPreferred:· Previous experience as a Registered Nurse in a Cath Lab.· CCRN certification.Fenton ERRequired:· Either (within the past 5 years):§ Two Years ED experience - OR -§ One-year ED experience with one-year critical care experience· ACLS within 6 months of hire or transferEndo / Operating Room / PACU / PATRequired:· Possess 2 years of clinical acute care experience· BLS CertifiedMedical Imaging/RadiologyRequired:· Minimum of two years of experience required in a critical care unit (2C/ICU/CCU/SCU), step down unit, cardiac cath lab, ER, neuro interventional procedures lab.· Competent in starting & maintaining IV's· 12 months of recent experience (within the last three (3) years) administrating & monitoring moderate sedation of patients.· Competent to interpret 12 lead EKG· ACLS within 6 months of hire or transferPreferred:· Previous experience working in MRI and Radiology settingNursing ResourceRequired:· Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice nursing in Michigan.· Minimum of 2 years' experience in an inpatient nursing unit or ER within the last 5 years as an RN (to include: PACU, CVCU; to exclude: 11S, Joint and Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Cath Lab, OR).· Minimum of 6 months proven telemetry monitoring/interpretation experience within the last year and/or successful completion of McLaren Flint's Telemetry Monitoring/Interpretation test within the last yearPartial HospitalizationRequired:· ANCC Psych Certification within 2 years of hire or transfer.LDRPRequired:· NRP certification within 6 months of hire or transfer· Complete the Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course and pass the test in accordance with AWHONN standards within 12 months of transfer or hireAdditional Information
