Payroll Specialist/human Resources Assistant

Payroll Specialist (Immediate Need)
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their team ASAP! This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience processing payroll for large employee populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Handle payroll tax filings, garnishments, direct deposits, and benefit deductions
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
- Assist with audits, reconciliations, and reporting
- Partner with HR and Accounting teams to ensure payroll accuracy
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now, ADP, or a similar payroll system (Paychex, UKG, Ceridian Dayforce, Paycom, Workday, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with Excel and payroll reporting
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
