Quality Technician

Job Description
The Quality Technician supports production and laboratory operations by performing gauge verifications, conducting product and process audits, executing a wide range of tests, and completing all required documentation for test results and certifications. This role helps ensure that products meet established quality standards and that non-conforming materials are identified, reviewed, and addressed through corrective actions.
Responsibilities

• Perform gauge verifications to ensure measurement tools are accurate and reliable.
• Audit manufacturing processes and finished products to confirm compliance with quality standards and procedures.
• Complete all necessary documentation related to test result reviews, certifications, and quality records in a timely and accurate manner.
• Conduct testing on basic dimensional measurements, bending, coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspections, and full GD&T evaluations.
• Perform specialized tests including conductivity, hardness, hydrogen testing, oil-bugs, oil-tramps, sampling plans, tensile testing, and titrations.
• Carry out process sorting and inspection activities to identify and segregate non-conforming materials.
• Support laboratory preventive maintenance (PM) and total productive maintenance (TPM) activities to keep equipment in proper working condition.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained through OPLs (one-point lessons), training participation, non-conforming material review, and 5W2H problem-solving.
• Execute corrective actions to address identified quality issues and prevent recurrence.
• Use computer systems, including ERP and quality-related software, to record data, manage documentation, and support audit management.
• Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures while working on the manufacturing floor and in the laboratory.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall quality assurance and laboratory operations.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in a similar quality-focused role.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• 2-year degree required.
• Ability to perform gauge verifications and use measurement tools accurately.
• Experience with quality assurance practices and quality control procedures.
• Ability to audit processes and products and document findings clearly.
• Capability to perform testing related to dimensional measurements, bending, CMM, conductivity, full GD&T, hardness, hydrogen testing, oil-bugs, oil-tramps, sampling plans, tensile testing, and titrations.
• Proficiency with computer systems and basic computer skills for data entry, documentation, and ERP system use.
• Ability to manage and participate in audit management activities.
• Capacity to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to walk, sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel in the normal course of duties.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms as needed while performing testing and inspection tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 4-year degree preferred.
• Experience with chemical mixing in a laboratory or manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and other quality-related software.
• Understanding of non-conforming material review processes and corrective action methodologies such as 5W2H.
• Comfort working in both manufacturing and laboratory environments.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in testing and documentation.
• Effective communication skills to discuss findings and collaborate with team members.
• Ability to follow established procedures and adapt to additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This role operates in both a manufacturing floor and a laboratory setting. The manufacturing floor environment is hot, dirty, and loud, and the Quality Technician will regularly pull samples from this area for testing. The laboratory is climate-controlled, clean, and organized, providing a comfortable space for detailed testing and documentation work. The position follows a 2-2-3 schedule, with initial training on day shift until mid-September and then transitioning to a night shift on the same 2-2-3 rotation, offering many days off over the course of the month. The role involves regular walking, sitting, and use of hands, with occasional standing, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eminence, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
