Electrical Foreman (HCAI/OSHPD)

The Electrical Foreman is responsible for overseeing and directing all field electrical activities on assigned projects, with a strong emphasis on healthcare construction under HCAI (Health Care Access and Information) regulations. This role ensures work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable codes, project specifications, and HCAI requirements. The Foreman leads field crews, coordinates with project stakeholders, and takes full ownership of project outcomes in alignment with company standards and leadership principles. Field Leadership & Execution Supervise and lead electrical crews to ensure productivity, quality, and adherence to project schedules Plan, organize, and assign work to meet project milestones and deadlines Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and HCAI-compliant plans Ensure proper installation of electrical systems in accordance with NEC, local codes, and HCAI standards Maintain a high level of craftsmanship and enforce quality control measures Coordination & Communication Coordinate with General Contractors, other trades, inspectors, and project teams Attend and contribute to jobsite meetings (pull planning, coordination, safety, etc.) Communicate effectively with Project Managers regarding manpower and job progress Provide clear direction and expectations to field personnel Planning & Productivity Participate in short‑interval planning and look‑ahead schedules Manage manpower and material to optimize productivity and reduce waste Track production and submit daily/weekly production reports Identify and escape potential delays or change order opportunities Leadership & Development Mentor and develop apprentices and journeymen Lead by example in professionalism, accountability, and work ethic Drive team performance through clear expectations and feedback Embody leadership principles including ownership, accountability, and teamwork Qualifications Minimum 7+ years of experience as an Electrical Foreman Proven experience on HCAI/OSHPD healthcare projects (required) Strong knowledge of NEC, local codes, and healthcare construction standards Experience working in active hospital/medical environments Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and submittals Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Proficient in construction technology (e.g., Bluebeam) Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites Preferred Qualifications State Certification as a General Electrician (California) OSHA 30 Certification Background in large‑scale commercial or institutional projects Physical Requirements Ability to work in various jobsite conditions (indoor/outdoor, elevated areas, confined spaces) Capable of lifting 50+ lbs and standing/walking for extended periods Ability to wear required PPE at all times We offer a very competitive compensation package which includes: Competitive Hourly Rate Company Vehicle, Fuel Card, Fasttrack Company Tablet/Laptop, Cell Phone PTO (Paid Time Off) 401K Incentive Bonuses based on your project’s performance Flexible Spending Account Health Insurance Life Insurance Referral Program Vision Insurance Join Our Team If you are an experienced Foreman who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, understands project financials and labor management, and embraces accountability and leadership, we encourage you to apply and become part of the Safeway Electric team.
