This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. The working schedule is Monday-Thursday from 7:00AM - 5:30PM.

The reporting location for this position is the Gavilan Sector Office, located in San Juan Bautista, California. This position will work under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Chief II.


The Diablo Range District is looking for an observant, responsible individual capable of leading others, working within a team, and taking direct action when called on to get things done. The individual chosen for this position will be responsible for the water and wastewater systems in the Sector. This position directs the work of others in system operations and may be requested to work with or direct staff in system related matters at other Sectors within the Diablo Range District.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Working Conditions


Daily and frequent use of personal computer and a variety of office software applications at a workstation. Sit in a normal seated position for extended periods of time. Work environment may have moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. May involve some exposure to aggressive visitors.

Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961 , this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962 .


This position requires possession of both a T2 and a D2 Water Treatment Operator License.
