Nurse Consultant

The purpose of this remote part-time temporary position is to facilitate the conduct of oncology clinical trials, including subject and data management, according to federal regulations, Good Clinical Practice, and local and institutional policies. These responsibilities relate to the mission of the UNC/LCCC Protocol Office by maintaining the quality of research and by addressing patient safety and regulatory compliance which impact research quality and safeguard institutional integrity.

Key responsibilities include:

• Data coordination
• Supporting activation tasks
• Clinical support
• Providing subject matter expertise and backup support for oncology clinical trial financial and billing compliance, including Epic treatment plans, research billing review, and staff guidance on compliant processes.
• Collaboration with research teams to ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety

This position is integral to the mission of the UNC/LCCC Clinical Trials Office, maintaining research quality and safeguarding institutional integrity, and driving discoveries that shape the future of cancer care.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements - Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and two years of experience in the area of specialization.

Management Preferences:

• Previous experience with therapeutic clinical research involving drugs or devices
• Experience with direct patient contact in the hospital/clinic setting
• Experience or familiarity with medical terminology, navigation of medical records or data abstraction
• Demonstrated ability to operate at a high degree of independence
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate studies of high complexity
