Apply soon before it closes Description American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma teaching hospital requiring AWHONN Advanced and NRP Advanced certifications. Details Labor and Delivery/LDRP unit in an acute care hospital setting Patient ratio of 1:2 Weekend requirements of 2 weekends every 6 weeks, with night shift weekends potentially including Fridays No on-call requirements No floating outside of scope required Uses Cerner charting system Handles birth volumes ranging from under 100 to over 300 births annually Requirements Active CA RN license required Current certifications required: BLS, AWHONN Advanced, NRP Advanced (must include all 11 components), and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) ACLS and EFM certifications also required Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required, though candidates can be screened Vaginal exam ability/experience required Baby care ability/experience required Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required COVID vaccination status required for consideration Additional Information Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level II Trauma Center status 412 staffed beds Strict dress code: no facial hair, no acrylic nails, no unnatural hair colors, all tattoos must be covered, no visible body piercings other than small earlobe earrings No specific scrub color required, but camouflage and character patterns are not allowed Free parking available First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted at standard bill rate Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler Holiday RTO limited to one request, though staff will likely be required to work holidays Orientation includes required training modules averaging 3-6 hours depending on specialty These details are based on information provided by the facility and may include inaccuracies or be subject to updates.
