POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Convenience Store Cook to join our dedicated staff! You will assist in the preparation and cooking of on-site food items. The ideal candidate for this position has previous experience in Quick service or convenience food preparation and is passionate about cooking and thrives in customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cooking food items according to recipes and standards, and ensuring they are cooked to the correct temperature Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, and ensuring food is handled and stored properly Stocking ingredients and supplies, and performing inventory checks Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Maintain solid knowledge of all food products Providing excellent customer service and addressing customer needs Transport supplies from the storeroom and stock in designated areas Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guide Ensure all products are rotating on a first-in, first-out philosophy Ensure all requisitions are processed properly and placed in designated area Properly label and detail products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards Organize all the various prep items needed from different areas to ensure that all items are in place and ready for service Assisting in the training of new cooks Ensure daily cleaning and maintenance is maintained to health standards. Maintain work area and kitchen space to health and clean/neat/org standards.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Previousexperience in cooking, foodservice or other related fields Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques Strong attention to detail Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment Ability to work well in teams Working knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation procedures Working knowledge of weights, measures, and various cooking techniques Professional appearance and demeanor

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Southern Nevada Health District Food Handlers Card (or ability to obtain).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
