Registered Nurse - Surgical Step-down Job Description Experience: Mid Level Salary: $34 - $49 per hour Job Details We are hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Thoracic / Cardiovascular Stepdown opportunity in Raleigh, NC. This is a strong role for an RN seeking a high‑acuity hospital setting with meaningful patient impact, strong team support, and exposure to complex thoracic post‑op and cardiovascular care. The RN will care for patients on an Intermediate / Acute Care telemetry unit, including thoracic post‑op patients, cardiovascular patients requiring drip management, and acute cardiac cases. This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys fast‑paced inpatient care, strong teamwork, and managing clinically complex patients. What You’ll Do Provide direct patient care on a thoracic / cardiovascular stepdown unit Manage thoracic post‑op and cardiovascular patients, including drip management and telemetry monitoring Perform assessments, medication administration, care planning, and implementation Monitor patient progress and elevate changes in condition appropriately Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support smooth transitions and continuity of care Maintain accurate real‑time documentation and support patient and family education Participate in quality and safety initiatives aligned with unit standards What We’re Looking For Active North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact state licensure At least 1 year of inpatient RN experience preferred Background in telemetry, stepdown, IMU, PCU, cardiovascular, thoracic surgery, acute care, or med‑surg can translate well Strong clinical judgment and ability to prioritize in complex, fast‑paced situations BLS certification required Comfortable working in a high‑acuity, night‑shift hospital environment Schedule / Compensation / Benefits Night shift Intermediate / Acute Care telemetry unit Compensation: $34–$49/hr Up to $20,000 sign‑on bonus Up to $25,000 loan forgiveness Strong night shift differentials Relocation assistance, if applicable PTO, paid holidays, and full benefits package A bit about us This opportunity is with a high‑performing Intermediate / Acute Care team in Raleigh caring for complex thoracic post‑op and cardiovascular patients in a collaborative hospital setting.
