Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring high-risk telemetry experience and an active IL RN license in hand at time of submission.

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with strong cardiac background
• High-risk telemetry experience required
• Cardiac drip management, sheath pull, and central line management experience required
• Skills required include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and central line care
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with pre/post cardiac surgery care and wound care/wound vac preferred

Responsibilities

• Acute care Magnet hospital setting on a 40-bed Telemetry unit within a 222-bed facility
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Requires every other weekend work, approximately 6 weekend shifts within a 6 week schedule
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float required within scope to all inpatient units across both campuses
• EPIC charting system required
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response
• Manage cardiac drips (no titration) and administer procedural sedation monitoring
• Navy scrub color required
• No parking cost at facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• Permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
