Packaging Equipment & Maintenance Supervisor Located in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, Tris Pharma has an immediate opening for a Packaging Equipment & Maintenance Supervisor on 1st shift. Hours are Monday‑Thursday, 10‑hour shift. Description The Packaging Equipment and Maintenance Supervisor will supervise, support, and assist packaging mechanics to ensure efficient packaging of goods. The role includes performing packaging equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, upgrade, and preventive maintenance on equipment such as fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, bundlers, and shrink wrappers in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements. The incumbent manages day‑to‑day maintenance, safety, scheduling, compliance, and training activities to meet manufacturing deadlines. She/he is responsible for adequate staffing of the department and for providing support and guidance to team members. Essential Functions Technically supports and guides mechanics in troubleshooting, organizes daily schedules, and assigns personnel to meet demand. Responsible for all aspects of packaging equipment maintenance while complying with cGMP, SOPs, and FDA requirements. Supervises routine and complex troubleshooting, repair, and upgrade of packaging equipment. Manages preventive maintenance (PM), repair, and continuous improvement of packaging equipment. Executes capital and continuous improvement projects utilizing internal and external resources. Performs root‑cause analysis on equipment failures to support investigations and reports deviations from processes or procedures. Establishes and enforces operating and safety standards and procedures for maintenance services and repair. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of packaging equipment, systems, and processes. Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on usage of control points, equipment, and resources and maintains compliance with established policies and procedures. Serves as a back‑up in the absence of mechanics as needed. Supervises, coaches, and mentors direct reports and contingent employees. Qualifications Required Minimum education and years of relevant work experience: Associate's degree or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years experience in a cGMP‑regulated environment in pharmaceuticals or biotechnology within Facilities, Engineering, Packaging, and/or Manufacturing departments, in positions of increasing technical and supervisory responsibility, or equivalent combination of education and hands‑on experience. Special knowledge or skills: Strong working knowledge of FDA, cGMPs, DEA, OSHA, SOPs, and related regulatory rules and guidelines. Hands‑on experience operating, maintaining, overseeing, and repairing various makes and models of packaging equipment. Knowledge of PLC programming and Building Management System (BMS) applications. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and environmental policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Basic PC skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, matrixed team environment. Problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. Planning, organization, and time‑management skills to support and prioritize multiple projects. Fluent in English (verbal and written). Willingness to work additional hours as required by business needs. Special Knowledge or Skills Preferred People management or supervisory experience. Travel Requirements 0% Physical Requirements Manufacturing‑based position; requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Compensation and Benefits Anticipated salary range: $90,000 to $120,000 per year. Base salary offered is contingent on assessment of candidate's education and experience relative to position requirements and on review of industry standards and internal equity.
